Today, dear friends and readers, I would like to present to you a guest post, brought to you by the fabulous Rebekah Carter. She was kind enough to reach out to me earlier this week and ask if she could write a piece for Apartment Eats about juicing. Since I know you all are no strangers to smoothies and the likes, I said, “sure, why not!”
Rebekah is an active health and lifestyle blogger with plenty of experience in the world of fitness and dieting. Her juicing practices have helped her and her readers to lose weight, gain energy, and get more from their lives. After reading her post, I think I might give this juicing gig a try (and besides, I’ve been wondering what to do with these whole aloe leaves I’ve seen at the grocery store, since I’m pretty sure they’re not being sold for sword fighting purposes — What! They’re, like, two feet long!).
Until I go grocery shopping for the week, here’s your Apartment Eats post for the first week of February: The Aesthetics of Juice: Juicing for Hair Growth, by Rebekah Carter.

Most people today are well aware of the benefits of juicing when it comes to things like weight loss and improved well being. However, did you know that the juices of fresh fruits and vegetables can also have a major impact on the vitality and thickness of your hair? Including the right juices in your daily diet can help you to meet all of your healthcare needs first thing in a morning!
Rather than giving you a one-size-fits-all approach to the perfect juicing for hair growth, we’re going to give you a list of the most effective and valuable ingredients you can use to get sleek, shiny, and thick hair in no time. If you’re not feeling the juicing vibe but you like lotions and at-home spa treatments, check out the links below for some easy to make hair care recipes!

Aloe Vera

Experts across the world have frequently commended aloe vera for its numerous health benefits. Not only can the juice of the aloe plant help to soothe sore skin and give you a brighter more youthful countenance, but it can also help to prevent hair loss too! The vitamins that are found in aloe vera help to make your hair stronger and less prone to breakage, which means that no matter how frequently you wash or brush your hair – it stays protected.
Whether you drink it, or apply the juice directly to your scalp, you should find that a regular dose of aloe vera removes the signs of dandruff, and promotes naturally thick and lustrous hair.

Kiwi

Many people love the rich and vibrant taste of kiwi fruit, but it’s more than just a delicious treat to pair with your ice cream and fruit salads. Kiwi juice is enriched with huge doses of Vitamin E, which makes it perfect for improving the health and vitality of your mane. Usually, experts have been able to find that getting more Vitamin E in your diet naturally promotes faster hair growth, and since kiwi is also responsible for enhancing the immune system, you can rest assured that it will prevent hair loss too!
If you don’t want to drink your kiwi juice, you can always apply it to your hair, as kiwi can be a fantastic cleansing agent. However, because it’s very strong, you might find that it’s best to dilute your mixture with water before applying it to the scalp.

Guava

Guava is in numerous healthy juices and smoothies that you can find in stores today, so it only makes sense that you would use it in your own juice mixes for stronger hair. If you’re juicing for hair loss, the rich combination of antioxidants present in guava, as well as the various nutrients that it offers, such as iron, calcium, and folic acid, should give you some fantastic results.
Keep in mind that if you want to get the most out of the benefits of guava fruit, you will need to consume it raw. Since the flavor can be quite bold, you might consider mixing it with a few other flavors like lemon, strawberries and mango.

Cucumber

Cucumber is a wonderfully hydrating base for many fantastic green juices. Since it’s about 90 percent water, it’s a great way to get the hydration you need, while benefiting from a range of additional vitamins and minerals. Cucumber juice promotes better growth in your hair, and it can also improve the overall quality of your mane. Additionally, the enzymes in cucumber can promote enhanced circulation so that your hair follicles get all the delicious nutrients they need to grow!
A glass of cucumber juice once a day is a great way to fight back against hair loss problems. If you aren’t fond of drinking cucumber juice, just remember that you can always use them to make some fantastic salads (Editor’s Favorite: cucumber, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar).

Carrots

Carrots are proven to be not only a wonderful way to enhance your eyesight, but they can help boost hair growth, too. These bright orange roots are enriched with beta-carotene which can assist in delivering luster to your hair, and keeping colored hair looking bright!
If that wasn’t enough, the huge amounts of Vitamin C present in carrots also help to strengthen your hair and restore the quality of brittle follicles so that they’re less prone to breakage. Additionally, Vitamin C is useful at nourishing a dry or itchy scalp.

Mix and Match

The best way to get the most out of your juicing recipes for hair loss is to mix and match a range of different fruits and vegetables that have been proven to have a positive effect on follicle growth. Above, we’ve covered just five of the best ingredients to start your juicing trend, now it’s up to you to go forth and experiment with different blends and flavors. Your hair will thank you, and the rest of your body will, too!

There you have it, folks! Now you, too, can be a juice blending master of follicle health and well being. Go forth and prosper, and my your hair be ever-lustrous and full-bodied.
If you’re interested in submitting a guest post of your own, just send me an email with your pitch, and we can work together to make a post like this one. If you have a blog of your own that you’d like me to include in your guest post, I’d be more than happy to spread the word about your page. Just a little tit for tat.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Apartment Eats (which was going to be Thai turkey sliders, but I made them for a Superbowl party and they were all eaten before I could take a photo 😕; I’ll see if I can think of a way to make the post, maybe along with others whose picture material was eaten before photos could be taken).
