Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I had a giant pork loin hanging out in my freezer and I knew it had been there for a while but I wasn’t sure just how long “a while” had been. While looking for recipe ideas for braising, roasting, marinating, and countless other things I wasn’t super interested in, I remembered that pulled pork was a thing. This is the easiest recipe I’ve ever seen for pulled pork and oh MAN was it good! I had a roughly three-pound hunk of meat, so if you’re using a smaller cut, adjust as needed. I needed enough food to feed Hubby through the weekend while I was away for a hockey tournament. Here’s the recipe — Enjoy!
3 pounds Pork loin
18 oz Root beer (I used A&W)
24 oz Barbecue sauce (I went for my favorite classic Sweet Baby Ray’s)
Toss the pork loin and the root beer into your crock pot and cook on low for 7 hours. Drain the root beer and fat from the crock pot and shred the meat with a pair of forks. Drench in your favorite barbecue sauce, mix it together, pile it on a bun, and enjoy. That’s all there is to it!
