The apple muffin breakfast recipe. This is a great snack if you have a few minutes and need energy for sports, the gym, or a long day. It gives you lots of whole carbs and protein for activities, to keep you going for many hours.
1 English muffin
1 (preferably large) apple
2-4 Tbsp Peanut Butter
A Tsp. of Cinnamon
First, you take an English Muffin and toast it to your desired darkness. After that, apply peanut butter generously, depending on how much you like it or how much protein you want to add. Cover both sides.
Next, shred an apple of any variety, although the yellow/green ones taste best for this in my opinion. You can use a cheese grater (use the larger holes) or you can slice the apples very thin, which is less messy but harder to eat without taking the entre slice with you the first bite. Also, It is completely up to you whether you remove the skin. I do.
Add half the shredded apple to each side of the English muffin with peanut butter. Lastly, a dash of cinnamon tops it off. Prep can be done in 5-10 minutes for this very healthy, hearty breakfast!
