Have you ever been to Red Lobster?
Ever had their biscuits? You know, those cheesy, savory, delicious biscuits?
Aren’t they good?
Well then, I have a recipe for you.
These are great as a snack to pass, a dinner accouterments, or just as a snack on their own.
Yet another recipe by 12 Tomatoes and yet another bout of heated anticipation. Their recipes have never disappointed me before, so I have high hopes for this one.
As I’ve said before, I don’t do well preheating the oven before my prep work, so I’m going to move straight to step two, which involves a large bowl.
Normally, I have little to no issues when it comes to baking, but I got distracted mid-mixing, and I let the melted butter cool in the bowl with the milk. I ended up with a bowl of chunky buttermilk on my hand, plus some egg.
Meanwhile, as I botched the liquid part of this recipe, I had a friend helping me out on the dry part. At least some of this recipe will turn out okay.
We mixed the wet and the dry ingredients together, and it resulted in a rather thick batter.
I filled each muffin cup with a heaping spoonful of batter, and I took up one whole tray and three cups on a second tray. They looked promising, even as batter. I popped the trays into the oven, side by side, and set the timer for 20 minutes.
They came out, perfectly cooked, after 20 minutes, and I did a taste test shortly thereafter.
My only comment is that they were a little bit peppery, but not necessarily in a bad way. Next time, I might add chives, just for a little twist, and cut the amount of pepper in half.
All-in-all, these biscuits were quick, easy, and very tasty!
