Instant Pot Applesauce

Normally, I either make applesauce in a pot on the stovetop or in my crockpot. This time, my slow cooker was busy making apple butter (that recipe is coming later this month), so I decided to give this approach a go. Now that I’ve given it a try, it’s going to take a lot of convincing to go back to the crockpot. I can make about seven jars’ worth of applesauce in about ten minutes (not counting apple prep time) this way, and it’s amazing!

Ingredients
4 pounds Tart apples
1 tsp Lemon juice
1/2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
2-6 tbsp Sweetener (I liked using molasses, wildflower honey, or maple syrup)
1 cup Water

Peel, core, and cut your apples into chunks and toss them into your pressure cooker. Add all the other ingredients in and close the lid. Cook on high pressure for 8 minutes with a manual release, letting it sit on low pressure for about 10-15 minutes to cool before taking the lid off. Cool in a bowl or shallow dish before transferring to sterilized jars or tupperware.
